We ride again....

Yes... After much delay, we started on the 1st basic layout of this little ditty that was half completed last year, Sake. Yeeyong came over today and laid down the basic rhythm track and some shimmering appreggios, thanks to your truly's idea of production work. Ahem, thank you. It was atmospheric and lush, like a guitar orchestra playing through your head, mindfucking you slowly at 70 bpm (yes, Pink Floyd territory) and I haven't even demanded Yeeyong to lay down the acoustic tracks yet.

I hope we would start on the acoustics some time this week soon and then move on Weiyuan's bassline. Hopefully, AB would finalise some lyrics and get some harmonies worked out. Then I can crank out my cowboy hat and start playing my country slide. Woo hooooo .....

Lastly, we gotta figure out how to record Andy's drums and hopefully keyboards as well. It's gonna be a real bitch.....

Got Wood?

You might not, baby... but Yeeyong just got himself another piece of firewood, the Cort Jim Triggs signature Model, a fierce-looking piece of plank. Just check out the Bigsby tremolo... wooo hooo... I'm soooo jealous that someone got a guitar with a Bigsby before me!!!

With all that said, it's supposedly to be a semi-acoustic tather than an electric ... but it seemed to me more of a semi-hollowbody than anything ... When I laid my hands on it, I did the most natural thing: I turned up the volume/gain and plummet the guitar into submission. It was extremely light as compared with my Epiphone ES-335 but the action was good and it had a very smooth feel to the playing. As for tone, I didn't really catch it as I was too busy working the Bigsby .. heheheh ..

Man, with so many humbucker geetars in the band now, we should just play all metal or heavy rock stuff ..Just a thought .....

Huzzah!!!

My PC speakers are finally up again, basically this means a few things... anyway...

Got meself a pair of Altec Lansing ATP3 .. but the subwoofer sucks man ... though my old pair was much better with the subwoofer shaking the whole house on Saturdays when I turned it on full blast!!! Wooo hoooo ....

Well, at least I can start doing my sound sampling and recording all over again. That's great ...

Rest in peace

Just found out today this piece of sad news from the BigO emailer.

"Jimi Hendrix bassist Noel Redding has died May 11, 2003. He was 57. Redding was a member of the Experience, a trio which included Mitch Mitchell. No further information has been provided as to the cause of death."

Any dude that can keep up with Hendrix on 'Fire' deserves my respect. Rest in peace. You've earned it...

Return of the Prodigal Son...

Sujin has returned to the fold once again after an attempt at cold turkeying the sex, drugs and rock n roll lifestyle.

Read the story over at his blog.

Meanwhile, the 2 of us are developing the Spooning With Satan blogspot. We hope to get it up soon with a message forum and all. We'd notify all you true believers once it's all done up and ready for world domination.

Spooning With Satan News Update #2

As Sujin Thomas, guitarist for world-renowned death-country rock band Spooning With Satan has posted on his own blogspot that he is quitting guitar, that did not really come as a surprise to the members at Spooning With Satan . He had mentioned to several publications that he was thinking of hanging up the guitar since November. It would appear that since he has already hung up the guitar, he has decided to pursue his other interests in life. Thomas ' departure from the band which has not really taken place is believed that it will be amicable.

Their unique sound of death-country has been likened to "Dolly Parton-meets-Slayer". According to insiders, the band was eager to follow up their 2nd smash hit, "Kobe Tai Takes Five" and was supposed to enter the studios soon. The unidentified source mentioned that the material sounded "excellent and kept true to their country-metal roots with a new direction". Apparently, Spooning With Satan has introduced a new disco element never heard in their music before.

When questioned about the departure of Thomas, Willy Tan who plays guitars in the band expressed his shock at the news. "This will definitely throw a spanner into our plans for world domination," Tan said with a tint of bitterness in his tone. However, he continued wistfully, " After all, he's still our memberssss. We wish him well and all the best for his future endeavours. It's just that it sucks that we have to look for a replacement guitarist. I mean, we could conduct a nation-wide search for a new guitarist like Limp Bizkit or basically clone Sujin. Hey, with all this modern technology, I'm sure we can come up with something. Since Sujin actually decides not to play anymore, we just gotta tweak his clone and make sure that Sujin ver 2.0 will play til Kingdom come. Sorta like the Energizer bunny."

Holy Jesus Christ Mother Mary!!! The Best So Far

This is the definitive Hulk trailer!!! It looks friggin' amazing...

And I'm Sailing ...

Was out on Friday with Graham. Went out to meet Derrick who is a total home entertainment unit on his own and Mynn. They just finished watching X2 at GV Grand which by the way, the movie rocks ... Anyway, apparently, Mynn got a new car which was this Mazda MX5.

Obviously, I did what any other normal human being would; I plunked myself into the passenger seat and demanded that we start rolling... It was great to cruise down the CTE sitting in it. Now all I have to do is come up with a plan to make him lend me his car. Heheheh..........
